Here, some useful information for competitors and visitors will be published. The side will be continiously updated with new information.
When?
Swedish Robotics Championship 2013 will be held at the end of April, in Gothenburg, probably in Ljusgården in the A-building at Chalmers.
Information for competitors
If you have any questions before Swedish Robotics Championship, please contact the organizers by e-mail (contact information in Contact us).
The start modules
During Robot-SM and Robotchallenge (the biggest robotics competition in Europe) 2012 the start module system was used with good success. The reason was to make the competition more fair and to get rid of false starts. Therefore, it will be used this year as well. You can either implement this yourself or buy the pre-built module. The pre-built module costs 75SEK (about 8.5€) including shipping within Sweden. Without shipping, the module is 60SEK (about 7€). If you order several modules, you only need to pay shipping for the first module. The module is ordered at the registration. Payment should be sent to CRF bankgiro no. 5861-1898. Please mark the payment with your name (first and last name) and ”start module”. Please send us an email when you have sent the payment. The module will be sent as soon as we get the money. If you need shipping outside of Sweden or if you can’t pay using bankgiro, please contact us and we will try to arrange it.
If you don’t want to buy a start module, there is a possiblity to borrow one against a deposit at the competition. We can however not promise you that we will have any available, but we will try. The best way is still to order the module, which also gives you a better chance of integrating the module.
More information about rules and so on are available at Information about the start system
Find the competition
By car
To find the venue by car, the easiest is to drive towards Sven Hultins Gata 6. Use some map-service such as Google Maps, Eniro or Hitta to find directions. GPS is also your friend.
Public transport
If you live in Gothenburg you can go by public transport. Tram is the choice of the Gothenburgers. To Chalmers you can go by tram nr 6, 7, 8, 10 or 13 as well as bus 16. If you come by train from the Central Station tram number 7 from Drottningtorget towards Tynnered or bus 16 from Nordstan to Eketrägatan is recommended. For more information, see vasttrafik.se. From the tram stop Chalmers, walk towards Chalmers and walk straight ahead past a little pond to the left and then the entrance is to your right. The entrance says Arkitektur Väg och Vatten.
Accomodation during Swedish Robotics Championship
For competitors travelling from far away, we have collected some useful links with possible alternatives for accomodation during the competition. Remember to book in time to avoid being without anywhere to sleep.

Building a robot
Even if you’ve nevber built a robot yourself, it’s actually not that hard to get started and to get a working robot. There are loads of great sources on the internet.
